Job Duties

As a Business Services Center Representative 2, you would supervise a team of Business Services Center Representative 1's and clerical staff within finance, human resources or support services. You would provide technical assistance to staff, analyze and review performance metrics as a team in daily huddles, collaborate on difficult cases or processing issues and discuss legislative or agency requirements. You would also perform the duties of a Business Services Center Representative 1, such as interacting with customers and vendors, processing transactions, researching legislation, form changes and other updates impacting your office and team. You would perform the full range of supervisory duties.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.

On or before the date of the examination, you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office of General Services and have had permanent competitive, non-competitive NY HELPS*, or 55-b/55-c service as either:

A. a Business Services Center Representative 1;

OR

B. an office assistant, clerical, or keyboarding title allocated to Grade 9 or higher.
