Job Duties

As a Program Specialist 2 (Cannabis), you would have oversight over programs within the Office of Cannabis Management, with a focus on regulations related to the licensure of individuals within the industry as well as consumers. You would assess the impact of existing regulations, make recommendations for improvement, and implement updates. You would perform internal controls testing and coordinate external compliance checks and coordinate with other relevant State agencies on issues such as cultivation, distribution, and selling of cannabis. You would also develop tools and resources to educate the public on cannabis-related information, especially pertaining to harm reduction. You would supervise Program Specialists 1 (Cannabis) and independently perform the more sensitive or complex tasks requiring greater knowledge.
