Job Duties

Tree Pruners care for and maintain trees to eliminate hazardous conditions, clear rights-of-way, and improve the appearance and health of trees.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

This title is non-competitive.  No examination is necessary.  However, you must still meet the Minimum Qualifications of the position.

Candidates must have six months of experience climbing and pruning trees and, at the time of appointment, must meet the physical and medical standards promulgated by the Director of Employee Health Services. When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid New York State driver`s license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.
