Job Duties

As a Conservation Operations Supervisor 4, you would be responsible for directing a region wide operations organization consisting of personnel, equipment, and operating budgets in support of a wide variety of department field programs and activities. Tasks include developing regional work plans and budgets; directing department construction resources; directing the regional automotive equipment program including coordinating purchases of new vehicles and equipment; directing building management services; establishing adequate fiscal controls and monitoring expenditures; directing regional operations resources in response to emergency situations; consult with regional director and other program supervisors to ensure efficient delivery of services; consult with central office engineering staff on construction matters in the region; ensure program activities are compliant with state and federal requirements; and prepare, coordinate, and manage various contracts.

For all qualified employees of New York State on or before the examination, you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and have had permanent competitive, non-competitive, or 55-b/55-c service as a Conservation Operations Supervisor 3.
