Job Duties

Deputy Director for Rehabilitation Hospital:  plans, directs and coordinates all administrative activities and non-medical support services.  Works with the Director to plan, develop, review and evaluate policies, procedures, and work methods for the promotion of patient care and treatment, and clinical research;  analyzes changes in treatment programs to determine effect on required support services and directs redeployment of personnel and resources accordingly; develops means to improve the utilization of support staff and resources to provide the environment necessary for care and treatment objectives; directs fiscal management, the hospital's personnel program, the operation, maintenance, and custodial care of physical plant, the feeding of patients, staff housing, plant security and safety, maintenance of medical records, provision of paramedical services such as pharmacy and x-ray, and the provision of general office services; and other duties as deemed necessary.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

Please note: qualifications for this position may be subject to change. If substitutions for education and/or experience are allowed, this information would be available on the announcement.

Non-competitive:  a Masters Degree from a regionally accredited college and five years of experience as an administrator of a staff or support area in a program providing direct comprehensive service for patients in a rehabilitation or acute care hospital;

OR

a Bachelors Degree from a regionally accredited college and seven years of the above noted experience.  Acceptable Bachelors degrees are:  business administration, accounting, nursing, health care administration, business education, marketing, economics, banking and finance, industrial engineering, mathematics, commerce, public administration and industrial management.
