Job Duties

An Artist Designer 1 would typically produce such basic art as charts, graphs, posters, mechanical and hand lettering, paste-ups, and copy work.  Incumbents assist higher level artists by producing segments of art and design projects following specific instructions.  Incumbents use standared graphic tecniques, art media and color treatment which are usually determined by the supervisor.  Assignments at this level typically do not require the incumbent to produce creative or original artwork.  Layout and design are generally conceived and developed by the supervisor.
