Job Duties

As a Public Service Commission Operations Clerk 3, you would:

Manage personnel activities of the Central Operations Unit including:

Supervise and coordinate activities of the Public Service Commission Operations Clerk 2.

Prepare justification for additional staff resources, determining whether they meet with approved staffing ceilings and plans.

Coordinate with Human Resources Management in the filling of positions.

Prepare six-month and annual employee evaluations.

Manage day-to-day operations of the Unit including:

Plan, organize and structure the Unit to ensure performance of tasks and functions serve the needs of the agency and the public.

Plan, schedule, assign, and monitor workload of the Unit.

Analyze operations to ensure work is performed accurately, timely, and in accordance with Department policies and procedures.

Remedy work-related problems.

Review effectiveness of subordinate work units and recommend changes.

Work directly with Information Services Unit to ensure the continued functioning of the Document and Matter Management System, the Department's all-electronic recordkeeping process to serve as the legal source of information for the agency and the Office of the Secretary to the Public Service Commission.

Have responsibility for preparation and administration of all functions related to Commission session including:

Pursuant to SAPA, review all proposed agency actions and adoptions for submission to DOS for publication in the State Register.

Ensure compliance with Commission directives.

Coordinate the public agenda with the Public Information Office.

Attend session and pre-session meetings.

Review documents prepared for the Secretary's signature and coordinate with the General Counsel and other Department offices on resolving potential problems and revisions.
