Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.

For qualified employees of New York State on or before the date of the examination, you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Thruway Authority or the New York State Canal Corporation and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in an administrative position allocated to Grade 18 or above as defined in Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law OR as an Assistant Thruway Stores Supervisor, a Purchasing Agent, or a Purchasing Officer 1.
