Job Duties
DIRECTOR, DIVISION OF CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION, is responsible for the management and direction for the supervision and inspection of all State building construction activities. Duties include:
- Establishing and formulating the policies and procedures and plans associated with the administration and direction of the Division of Construction;
- Acting as the chief liaison between construction clients, contractors, construction management firms and other divisions in the Design and Construction Group;
- Coordinating and directing the development of workforce plans for the Division of Construction;
- Monitoring the Division of Construction's performance on construction projects to evaluate the quality, effectiveness and timeliness of construction management, inspection and supervision of services provided by the region construction staff in accordance with the Division's operating policies, procedures and contracts.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.
Candidates must have a Professional Engineer's License or Architect's License and nine years of progressively responsible engineering or architectural experience, of which at least four years must have included major full-time responsibility for the building construction inspection and supervision activities for a large public or private construction organization.
