Job Duties

As a Developmental Disabilities Secure Care Treatment Aide 2, you would care for and treat individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in a secure unit; supervise lower level Developmental Disabilities Secure Care Treatment Aides assigned to the unit; provide individuals with a secure and safe environment; and assist in the implementation of individuals’ habilitation plans.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.  

On or before the date of the examination, the candidate must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office For People With Developmental Disabilities and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Developmental Disabilities Secure Care Treatment Aide Trainee, Developmental Disabilities Secure Care Treatment Aide 1, Developmental Disabilities Secure Care Treatment Aide 1 (Manual Communications) or a Developmental Disabilities Secure Care Treatment Aide 1 (Spanish Language).
