Job Duties

Assistant Counsels, in general, perform difficult professional legal work in the analysis and interpretation of laws related to the work of a State agency and in the development of the agency's legislative program; prepare, assemble and analyze evidence in cases to be heard by administrative bodies; atten hearing; prepare legal memoranda and findings of fact with respect to administrative decisions; personally conduct and direct investigations; assist in the syudy, review, revision and preparation of the rules and regulations; assist in the drafting and review of proposed legislation, etc.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must have been admitted to the New York State Bar and must have had two years of experience in the practice of law subsequent to admission to the Bar.
