Job Duties

These positions exist only in the Department of Law. As an Investigative Specialist 3 (Law) you would, supervise or manage the performance of investigations necessary to support the State’s position in various types of legal actions concerning the laws, rules and regulations of State agencies. You may manage the investigative activities relating to designated programs including both administrative and technical supervision over all assigned units or geographical areas. You may advise and report to agency management on investigative and related matters; ensure that program goals and productivity standards are met. You may recommend, formulate and implement investigative program policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines. You may coordinate investigations with other agency investigative or program staff. You may prepare reports detailing unit activities, workload, and personnel requirements. You may evaluate the training needs for consideration by agency management.
