Job Duties

As a Standard Compliance Analyst 2, you would perform activities coordinating the inspection and certification of public and private facilities providing treatment to recipients of services.  They review operating certificate applications; serve on on-site inspection teams; and assist applicants in interpreting established regulatory requirements, policies and standards.  They may also supervise Standards Compliance Analyst 1. Extensive travel may be required.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.  

There are two examinations held for this position.

For qualified employees of New York State on or before the date of the examination, you must have had three months or permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Standards Compliance Analyst 1.

For all other qualified individuals on or before the date of the examination, you must have a bachelor’s degree
AND
Two years of specialized experience OR one year of specialized experience and two years of general experience.

Specialized experience for these examinations is professional experience in the formal, on-site inspection and review of mental retardation/developmental disability, mental health, chemical dependency, or health programs for compliance with established legal requirements, standards, and/or contracts for program services.

General experience for these examinations is professional administrative or professional clinical experience in a mental health, mental retardation/developmental disability, health or chemical dependency program.

Note: Direct care experience and fiscal audit/review experience are not considered qualifying experiences for the purpose of these examinations.
