Job Duties

A number of maintenance supervisory titles were consolidated into the Maintenance Supervisor title series effective December 28, 2017.  Please visit Frequently Asked Questions for further information regarding this consolidation and the Impacted Title Listing for a list of the titles consolidated.

As a Maintenance Supervisor 2 (Toll Equipment), you would work under the general supervision of the Thruway Division Director and the Director of Intelligent Transportation Systems Maintenance. You would oversee and direct the Intelligent Transportation Systems Maintenance Program for an entire Division; schedule and coordinate work and monitor its progress; ensure the availability of tools, parts, materials, and supplies required to advance work activities; ensure program efficiency and effectiveness; ensure staff development and training, and trainee advancements; prepare annual budgets and develop and implement recommendations in support of the Division Program.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

On or before the date of the examination, you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Thruway Authority and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in the following title(s):

Either A. Maintenance Supervisor 1 (Toll Equipment) or Toll Equipment Maintenance Supervisor 1

Or B. Toll Equipment Mechanic or Toll Electronic Systems Technician
