Job Duties

As a Director Utilities Management, you would:

·Formulate policy with regard to all agency-owned utility operations.

·Review and approve plans and specifications prepared by consultants and agency architectural and engineering staff for State leased and owned space to ensure compliance with agency and tenant requirements and to reduce costs and operational problems.

·Provide technical advisory assistance to facility management outside the Albany area regarding the operation, maintenance, and rehabilitation of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems.

·Analyze the overall utility program including status of systems, capital building construction, staffing patterns and new technical trends, and prepare budget requests.

·Establish and review guidelines and schedules for repair and inspection of the utility preventative maintenance program.

·Direct feasibility studies for cost-benefit analysis of the physical plants and facilities utility systems.

·Meet with tenant agency representatives to resolve any utility problems.  

·Perform the full range of administrative supervisory responsibilities.
