Job Duties

As an Industrial Quality Control Analyst, you would:

Manage the Quality Control Program at Correctional Industries facilities and the Quality Control Laboratory.

Research and develop quality control procedures to be used at the Correctional Industries facilities.

Manage the Quality Control Laboratory at the Coxsackie Correctional Facility and develops testing procedures to ensure quality by product line and testing of materials is consistent and/or coordinates the testing of materials with outside entities as necessary.

Develop a quality control manual specifying quality control procedures applicable to individual product lines and outlining procedures to build quality into products.

Establish and enforce compliance with a system of product identification by date, lot number, and batch number; and maintains accurate records for reference and to trace problems related to such products.

Develop techniques for the control of product quality and cost as applied to current and forecasted production.

Promote and establish safety and health; and take actions to promptly remove hazards in the workplace.

Assist the Purchasing Unit in ensuring that proper test methods are referenced in all bid solicitations.

Review all industry contracts for accurate, up-to-date and detailed specifications and standards for the Purchasing Unit.

Perform weekly quality audits in the warehouse of inbound stock.

Visit manufacturing facilities to determine efficiency of the quality control systems.

Plan new product lines and manufacturing methods to improve product quality and decrease costs.

Collaborate with other Corcraft manufacturing staff to plan new product lines and manufacturing operations.

Exercise control over budgets and appropriations within area of operations.

Collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineer to plan methods improvements and cost reduction initiatives projects.

Work with Purchasing and Manufacturing Units to plan the purchase and use of less expensive materials without lessening product quality.

Monitor customer complaints to detect trends and anticipate quality problems; and implement corrective action. Ensure continuous customer satisfaction.

Compile various reports for management regarding quality control problems encountered and their disposition.

Prepare reports for Executive review as required.

Plan the work of subordinates; set performance expectations; and train and evaluate their performance.
