Job Duties

As a Network Program Administrator, you would be responsible for in-service training of Network staff in necessary program skills and procedures within a correctional facility and you would personally direct group sessions on an ongoing basis. You would also maintain applicable program records at your facility, evaluate inmate progress within the program, and recommend any changes. You would maintain administrative goals for staff and be responsible for public relations relating to the Network Program in accordance with facility and departmental procedures.

Network is a program designed to promote the positive involvement of inmate participants in an environment which has as its focus their successful community reentry. The goal of the program is to assist inmates in learning cooperative work and leadership skills, while demonstrating responsible behaviors.

The Network Program operates within a prison community setting and stresses responsibility, involvement, and decision-making skills necessary to prepare inmates to successfully reenter society upon release from prison. Inmates develop these skills in response to guidance from Network Program Administrators and assigned security staff. Program techniques involve extensive use of group interaction to help participants make positive, pro-social choices; peer feedback sessions; confrontation groups; and other counseling treatment components with program staff and inmates within the Network community. Responsibilities of the Network Administrator position include the training of inmates and staff in these techniques.
