Job Duties

As a Children and Family Services Program Manager 1, you would directly supervise division or bureau staff providing services to youth in the care of OCFS, youth in programs administered by OCFS, or in family services programs monitored or overseen by OCFS for compliance with requirements and regulations to ensure consistency and continuity. You would manage a small Statewide program, or assist a higher-level manager in a large Statewide program, and participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for program and staff.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.

On or before the date of the examination, the candidate must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office of Children and Family Services and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Children and Family Services Specialist 2, Children and Family Services Specialist 2 (Permanency Services), Adoption Specialist, Child Protective Services Specialist 3, Youth Counselor 2, Youth Counselor 2 (Spanish Language), or Youth Counselor 3.
