Job Duties

As a Children and Family Services Program Manager 2 (Counseling), you would provide management and supervision to the bureau responsible for counseling services; oversee counseling services provided by OCFS residential youth facilities; develop and implement policies and procedures for counseling programs in OCFS facilities throughout the State; and provide technical assistance on counseling services to agency staff.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.

On or before the date of the examination, you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office of Children and Family Services and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Youth Counselor 3, Associate Psychologist, Licensed Psychologist, Psychologist 2, or a Social Work Supervisor 1 (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) AND possession of a master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or rehabilitation counseling.
