Job Duties

A Regional Coordinator Vocational and Educational Services is responsible for providing leadership, coordination and guidance to the district offices, service providers and community partners in their region. The Regional Coordinator also ensures consistent implementation of policy, procedures and internal controls; guides decision-making; mentor’s office staff; and brings a broad-based regional perspective to solving problems. The Regional Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that quality services are provided to consumers and that strong ties are maintained with service providers and community partners in their region.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.

On or before the date of the examination, the candidate must be a qualified employee of the New York State Education Department and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as either:

A. a District Manager Vocational Rehabilitation;

OR

B. an Associate Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor or Assistant District Manager Vocational and Educational Services.
