Job Duties

Jobs Program Specialists provide a broad range of employment related services (such as completing comprehensive client assessments) to prospective employers and applicants and recipients of temporary and transitional assistance.  These positions are located in the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance.

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.

These positions are filled by the Select Job Titles portion of the Professional Careers Opportunities (PCO) examination.

To qualify for Jobs Program Specialist, candidates must meet the following criteria:

A bachelor's or higher degree; AND one year of professional experience in placing low income or Welfare to Work participants in private sector employment. Experience must extend beyond assessment or interviewing functions and must include contact on a routine basis with employers in order to discuss candidate suitability for job openings, arrange job referrals and employer interviews and on-site follow up of new hires.
