Job Duties

As a Workers Compensation Security Coordinator, you would implement and administer a comprehensive plan of security for the WCBs statewide buildings, including developing, instituting and enforcing security rules, regulations and procedures; establish emergency evacuation procedures in response to fire or other threat; supervise a statewide staff of security personnel; serve as chief advisor to the Workers Compensation Board executive team on all security matters; act as liaison to the New York State Fraud Inspector General, Bureau of Internal Audit, State Inspector General and Federal, State and Local law enforcement agencies; perform or direct the performance of confidential or internal investigations; direct and maintain the Board's statewide security access, keying and alarm systems; review and approve reports within the Office of Security; monitor security risk lists against lists of people conducting businesses through the WCB; direct investigations of reported thefts, orders of protection and any other criminal activities occurring on Board premises; order all equipment and uniforms for Office of Security; coordinate training for Office of Security; select appropriate security agencies to supply the Board with contract guards to supplement permanent security staff statewide; serve as team leader for the agency's crisis response program and team, and serve as incident commander; serve as member of the agency's health & safety committee and coordinator for security-related construction; and perform the full range of supervisory duties.
