Job Duties

As a Supervisor Consumer and Facility Services, you would plan and coordinate the work activities of subordinate staff and set priorities based on program needs and resources for the Consumer Services and Facility Services Sections. You would interpret laws, rules, and regulations and suggest changes when needed. You would also work with outside groups such as consumer-oriented agencies, as well as other sections of the Department where activities are related to the automotive repair industry. You would prepare budget justifications and personnel requests based on analysis of production reports and future needs.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.

For qualified employees of New York State on or before the date of filing application, candidates must be a qualified employee of the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles and have had permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as follows:

Either 1. three months as a Motor Vehicle Consumer Services Representative 3 OR three months* in a position allocated to G-18 or higher;

Or 2. one year= as a Motor Vehicle Consumer Services Representative 2.
