As an Auditor 2 (Abandoned Property), you would supervise and conduct audits of entities having large financial assets and a probability of a substantial return to the State in abandoned property. You would plan and supervise audits of financial and business records of financial institutions such as banks, brokerage firms, stock transfer agents, mutual funds, insurance companies, and general corporations such as manufacturers, major retail chains and utilities, non-profit corporations and partnerships; establish the scope of audit; and schedule and plan audit activities of assigned staff. You would directly supervise Auditors 1 (Abandoned Property).

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.
On or before the date of the examination, you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office of the State Comptroller and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as:
Either A: an Auditor 1 (Abandoned Property), Auditor Trainee 2 (Abandoned Property), Auditor Trainee 1 (Abandoned Property), Senior Abandoned Property Accounts Auditor, Abandoned Property Accounts Auditor Trainee 2, or Abandoned Property Accounts Auditor Trainee 1.
Or B: a State Program Examiner 1 (Fiscal).
