A Farmhand performs manyal labor and a variety of relatively unskilled duties on a farm assisting higher level farm positions in planting, cultivating and harvesting crops, operating farm equipment, and attending to livestock.
The position of Farmhand is distinguished from Farmer in that the latter performs farm work requiring skill and experience, and is usually in charge of a specific farm operation such as the care of a dairy herd, the raising of livestock, or for growing an assigned protion of a garden or field crop.
