Job Duties

The Tax Policy Analyst 1 analyzes the State's tax structure and evaluates the effect of changes in the tax structure and evaluates the effect of changes in the tax structure on taxpayers, businesses, the economy of the state and tax revenues. The analyst conducts studies of the tax structure which will be used by the Governor and the Legislature to proceed from a sound factual basis in formulating State tax policy. The incumbent draws on the resources of Bureau of Tax Data and Forecasting, the Technical Services Bureau, the Accounting Bureau, the Office of Counsel and other Departmental offices to develop analysis.
