As an Associate Administrative Analyst, you would supervise Senior Administrative Analysts or other professional level staff, as well as supporting clerical staff in conducting studies, analyzing and evaluating organizations or segments of organizations and their work, developing recommendations to assist management in improving the effectiveness and efficiency of programs and operations management and in identifying and solving administrative and management problems. You may also personally perform analysis of the more complex organizational problems; review, coordinate, and update organizational policy, administrative and procedural manuals; assist in the development and implementation of operating systems; and exercise forms design and usage control.

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.
On or before the date of the examination, you must be a qualified employee of New York State and have had 45 days of permanent competitive, non-competitive NY HELPS*, or 55-b/55-c service as a Senior Administrative Analyst, Administrative Analyst Trainee 2, or Administrative Analyst Trainee 1.
Only the title or titles listed are qualifying.
If you were permanently appointed to a qualifying title on or before June 19, 2024, and have served continuously in this title since that date, you are eligible to file for this examination.
*If you were permanently appointed via the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide (NY HELPS) program to a qualifying title in the non-competitive class on or before June 19, 2024, and have served continuously in this title since that date, you may apply for this examination.
