Job Duties
As a Business Services Center Analyst 3, you would manage the daily activities of staff engaged in Support Services Line functions including the administrative supervision of multiple teams led by Business Services Center Analysts 2. Illustrative duties include: coordinate and participate in the preparation of work plans for streamlining shared services, including identifying key deliverables and critical dates; direct the planning and development of internal methods and documents; work with leadership of Finance and Human Resources Service Lines to develop Business Services Center (BSC)-wide training programs for new or revised processes; develop and implement training programs for customer agencies related to BSC processes and guidelines; review metric reports created by the Performance Management Office as they relate to Support Service Line functions and special projects; and provide direction on legislative, regulatory, and monitoring activities affecting BSC programs.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.
On or before the date of the examination, you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office of General Services and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as:
Either A. Business Services Center Analyst 2;
Or B. Administrative Officer 1, Administrative Specialist 2, Associate Accountant, Associate Administrative Analyst, Associate Auditor, Associate Internal Auditor, Auditor 2, Internal Auditor 2, Associate Budgeting Analyst, Business Systems Analyst 2, Contract Management Specialist 2, Human Resources Specialist 2, Human Resources Specialist 2 (Labor Relations), Information Systems Auditor 1, Insurance Claims Administrator, Office Services Manager, Payroll Examiner 4, Project Manager 1, Senior Purchasing Agent, or Training Specialist 2.
Only the title or titles listed are qualifying.
If you were permanently appointed to a qualifying title on or before July 22, 2022, and have served continuously in this title since that date, you are eligible to file for this examination.
