Summary of Job Description

As a Parking Operations Supervisor 1, you would:

Oversee management of daily roster and ensures adequate coverage of parking locations, posts, and daily shifts including nights and weekends.

Handle customer complaints referred by Senior Parking Services Attendants.

Monitor collection of parking fees.

Oversee the parking enforcement program including investigations of unauthorized vehicles, citation tracking and recording, towing procedures, and permit suspension requests.

Ensure the safety and security of employees, tenants, and visitors by responding to security issues in accordance with policy and procedures.

Direct event coverage involving multiple locations or times ensuring placard compliance, event payment schematic and traffic management, and proper signage.

Act as lead liaison with service provider to ensure bus timeliness and general bus service contract compliance.

Direct overtime coverage as necessary.

Perform the full range of administrative supervisory responsibilities.

May perform any of the duties and responsibilities of Senior Parking Services Attendant and lower level staff.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.

For employees of New York State, on or before the date of the examination, the candidate must be a qualified employee of the NYS Office of General Services and have had three months of permanent labor class service as a Senior Parking Services Attendant.

For all other qualified individuals, on or before the date of the examination, candidates must have two years of experience supervising subordinate staff in the management of permit and cash parking operations of at least 1,500 spaces.
