Summary of Job Description

As an Assistant in Educational Planning and Evaluation, you would:

Provide technical assistance to schools, local educational agencies, other public or private agencies, professional organizations and the public.

Assist in the development of policy and proposed regulations, training, research, data analysis and preparation of informational materials.

Review and evaluate program applications or proposals and develop proposals for program initiatives.

Participate in and develop materials and facilitation guides for program monitoring site visits in districts and BOCES.

Assist other staff in monitoring educational programs, including the development of written recommendations, reports, and memoranda.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.

Candidates must have a master's degree AND, Three years of experience in the field of education* or in public administration. Two or more of the three years must be in an educational or governmental organization in an administrative position with major responsibility for one or more of the following: educational program planning, educational program evaluation, educational program auditing, educational program research, and/or educational program budget planning.

* The field of education, for the purpose of these examinations, means experience in a PreK-12 setting, college setting, or in an education agency.
