As an Investigative Officer 2 (Labor Standards), under the supervision of an Investigate Officer 3 (Labor Standards), you would oversee the activities of a team of Investigative Officer 1's engaged in a wide variety of investigations relating to the administration and enforcement of New York State Labor Law; present cases at conferences; testify at hearings; handle complex investigations; and interact with the public and regulated community.

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.
On or before the date of the examination, you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Department of Labor and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as an:
Investigative Officer Trainee, Investigative Officer Trainee (Chinese Language), Investigative Officer Trainee (Korean Language), Investigative Officer Trainee (Spanish Language), Investigative Officer 1, Investigative Officer 1 (Chinese Language), Investigative Officer 1 (Korean Language), Investigative Officer 1 (Spanish Language), Labor Standards Investigator, Labor Standards Investigator (Chinese Language), Labor Standards Investigator (Korean Language), or Labor Standards Investigator (Spanish Language).
