Job Duties

As a Security Hospital Supervising Treatment Assistant, you would supervise Security Hospital Senior Treatment Assistants and Security Hospital Treatment Assistants on an assigned shift at a maximum security forensic psychiatric center operated by OMH. You would assign and direct staff to ensure adequate coverage; review and approve work orders placed by clinical and direct care staff to ensure that clinical initiatives do not conflict with patient security and safety; train staff and ensure their compliance with facility rules, regulations, policies, and guidelines; and participate in meetings and committees as assigned by the Security Hospital Treatment Chief.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass an examination in order to be considered for this position.

For qualified employees of New York State on or before the date of the examination, you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office of Mental Health and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Security Hospital Senior Treatment Assistant.
