Job Duties

As a Coordinator Intensive Case Management Services, you would supervise a team of Intensive Case Managers providing intensive care coordination services to caseloads of culturally diverse individuals with serious mental illness on a 24-hr, on-call basis in the community. You would also monitor, review, and evaluate the effectiveness of intensive case management program operations within an assigned geographic area; coordinate services with other community providers; and manage the public relations aspects of the program by meeting with community groups, planning boards, and program providers to link individuals with serious mental illness to a broad range of services essential to successful living in a community setting (e.g. medical, psychiatric, social, educational, vocational, legal, housing, and financial services).

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.

On or before the date of the examination, you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office of Mental Health have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as an Intensive Case Manager, Intensive Case Manager (Spanish Language), Intensive Case Manager (Chinese Language), or Intensive Case Manager (Korean Language) AND have a master's degree in one of the following fields: social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, education, occupational therapy, physical therapy, recreation or recreation therapy, counseling, community mental health, child and family studies, sociology, speech and hearing or other human services field.

If you were permanently appointed to a qualifying title on or before February 13, 2023, and have served continuously in this title since that date, you are eligible to file for this examination.
