Job Duties

As a Supervisor Correctional Facility Volunteer Services, under the general direction of a facility Deputy Superintendent of Program Services and a Regional Coordinator of Volunteer Services, you would work with the executive teams and department staff of facilities within a given area in order to coordinate the management of the Volunteer Services Program. Responsibilities would include recruitment, screening, and orientation of volunteers; increasing the use of volunteers in the supplementing facility programs; working with area public and volunteer groups and organizations; encouraging involvement of minorities, inmates, parolees, and formerly incarcerated persons as volunteers; promoting community involvement in special events at facilities; reporting on volunteer activities; and acting as liaison with community groups, organizations, and civic leaders. Extensive travel will be required.
