Job Duties

As a Disability Analyst 3 (Spanish Language), you will supervise the review and administrative adjudication of claims for benefits under Title II and Title XVI of the Social Security Act (SSA). You will provide expertise on SSA rules and regulations on case processing, including face-to-face adjudications to terminate benefits; assess the quality of claims processing and determinations for efficiency; coordinate training; evaluate regional programs; oversee the Analyst Case Processing System; and may assist with oversight of medical relations activities.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.

On or before the date of the examination, the candidate must be:
A qualified employee of the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Disability Analyst 2 or Disability Analyst 2 (Spanish Language).

Only the title or titles listed are qualifying.

If you are selected for appointment as a Disability Analyst 3 (Spanish Language), you will be required to demonstrate proficiency in that language. Proficiency must be at a level which will permit you to perform the duties of the position satisfactorily.
