Job Duties
A Correctional Facility Specialist 3, under general direction of the Assistant Director of Operations and Training, plans and directs the activities of the Commission; develops, facilitates and implements programs consistent with agency policy; interprets Commission policy, sets priorities, assembles and assigns regional work teams; provides mentoring and guidance on complex technical issues; reviews, edits and approves work products; directs major investigations; coordinates and leads the Commission's emergency response in the field; performs supervisory tasks such as conducting performance evaluations, monitoring time and attendance, and overseeing staff development.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.
On or before the date of the examination, the candidate must be a qualified employee of the New York State Commission of Correction and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Correctional Facility Specialist 2.
