Job Duties
As a Public Safety Program Specialist 1, you would under the direction of a Public Safety Program Specialist 2 or higher-level supervisor, conducts or provides direct training or instruction to law enforcement and partner law enforcement support agencies.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

This title is non-competitive. No examination is necessary. However, you must still meet the Minimum Qualifications of the position.
Six years of qualifying experience* as a law enforcement officer, law enforcement trainer, or public safety program administrator in a local, state, or federal police agency or law enforcement support agency, or four years of such experience and completion of a two-year traineeship.
*All qualifying law enforcement experience must have been gained after basic/recruit training. Time served for basic/recruit training does not count towards the qualifying law enforcement experience.
Substitutions: An associates degree may substitute for two years of non-supervisory experience; a bachelor’s degree may substitute for four years of non-supervisory experience. a master's degree may substitute five years of non-supervisory experience; J.D. may substitute for six years of non-supervisory experience; or Ph.D. may substitute for seven years of non-supervisory experience.
