As a Professional Geologist 3, you will provide policy oversight, management and leadership of an environmental quality program. Duties including developing and supporting work plans and budgets; managing spill response, major oil storage facility and chemical/petroleum bulk storage programs; serving as the liaison between the Division, the Regional Director, Office of General Counsel, Permits, Natural Resources, Operations and representatives of federal, state, local agencies and the public and supervising program staff.

You must be a qualified employee of New York State and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Professional Geologist 2 or Engineering Geologist 3 AND a New York State Professional Geologist's license and current registration at the time of appointment.

In accordance with New York State Education Law 7208.a.5, if you were employed by New York State on November 21, 2016 in a position where you performed geologic services (as defined in the scope of practice of geology in this statute), you are exempt from the requirement of having a New York State Professional Geologist's license and current registration. This exemption will be confirmed by the hiring agency at the time of appointment.
