Medical Director: performs medical examinations of boxers and wrestlers before and after an event; assures that specimens are appropriately collected and that a proper chain of custody is maintained; assures that test results are received in a timely manner and properly reviewed; performs in-depth review of the career history of each contender seeking to box professionally in New York State; orders additional testing when necessary and appropriate; advises Commission on medical status of boxers and wrestlers in regard to their physical well being and qualifications; makes recommendations on whether a boxer or wrestler should be allowed to compete; among other duties as necessary.
