Developmental Assistants perform and supervise staff in the performance of a wide variety of functions and tasks either in a community-based or developmental center setting in support of persons with developmental disabilities. They are directly related to the active treatment and habilitation of the developmentally disabled. Incumbents serve as a member of the Program Planning Team.
Developmental Assistant 1 is a first level supervisor assigned to small residential programs with less than six beds; supervises and works with staff to motivate and attend to the personal daily living needs of the developmentally disabled individuals in their care.
