Job Duties

Supervisors Forensic Services DNA performs the same work as the Supervisor Forensic Services but in the Biological Sciences Unit, conducting analyses in DNA Casework and the DNA Databank.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

This title is non-competitive.  No examination is necessary.  However, you must still meet the Minimum Qualifications of the position.

Candidates must have:

1. Master's Degree in a Natural or Physical Science, Administration (e.g. Public Administration, Business Administration or Criminal Justice) or Computer Science;
2. Successful completion of a combination of graduate and undergraduate course work covering the subject areas of biochemistry, genetics, and molecular biology as well as statistics and/or population genetics as it applies to forensic DNA analysis
3. Minimum of four (4) years satisfactory experience performing the duties of a Forensic Scientist in the Biological Sciences Unit or its equivalent in another laboratory;
4. Recognition as an expert in the field of forensic DNA analysis; and qualification or eligibility to become qualified as an expert witness in forensic DNA testing protocols and theory.
