As an Investigator 1 (Korean Language), you would independently perform investigative activities to gather information and evidence and prepare written reports of findings. Positions are set up for a statewide program of limited scope but with a broad base of licensees, claimants or participants or for incumbents to carry out discrete investigations as directed by their supervisor. Investigations generally focus on single individuals or entities that are suspected of violating clearly defined rules, regulations or laws. You may also assist in assuring compliance with program requirements.

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.
On or before the date of the examination, you must have:
Either 1. four years of qualifying experience;*
Or 2. an associate's degree in criminal justice, cyber security, law enforcement, police science, criminal justice administration, criminology, criminal investigation, police studies, public justice, forensic accounting, forensic psychology, forensic science, economic crime management, or homeland security AND two years of qualifying experience;*
Or 3. a bachelor's degree or higher in criminal justice, cyber security, law enforcement, police science, criminal justice administration, criminology, criminal investigation, police studies, public justice, forensic accounting, forensic psychology, forensic science, economic crime management, or homeland security.
*Qualifying experience: For the purposes of this examination, experience in a field investigative position conducting interviews of witnesses and others, taking written statements and affidavits, collecting and analyzing physical and documentary evidence, and preparing detailed written reports of investigative findings.
If you are selected for appointment as an Investigator 1 (Korean Language), you will be required to demonstrate proficiency in that language. Proficiency must be at a level which will permit you to perform the duties of the position satisfactorily.
