Summary of Job Description

As an Industrial Training Supervisor (Recycling), you will oversee the daily recycling center operations for the area to which you are assigned. You will train and supervise offenders who are under your direction. The areas of training and supervision will include, but are not limited to: material identification, grading, and sorting; material processing and marketing; equipment certification and operation; equipment maintenance and repairs; all elements of food residual composting; and loading of tractor trailers with marketable product. In addition to the training and supervision of offenders, you are responsible for the following: scheduling of delivery of recyclables from surrounding facilities; assisting in the formal bidding process of recyclables and the scheduling of trucking firms to haul the products to market; shredding of confidential and personal records and documents; product inventory and record keeping; individual facility records, processed bale inventory and resale journals; evaluating offender performance; and assigning offender wage payroll and OCED titles.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.

On or before the date of the examination candidates must meet ALL THREE of the following minimum qualifications:

1.  You must have two years of experience in a large scale recycling operation. This experience must include the operation of equipment such as forklifts, large capacity paper shredders, and down stroke balers.

2.  You must have two years of supervisory experience.

3.  You must be a high school graduate or have a high school equivalency diploma issued by a recognized state educational authority or a USAFI GED high school certificate.
