Summary of Job Description

As a Veterans Education Program Representative 3, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: conducting compliance surveys on institutions of higher learning, non-college degree, On-the-Job training and apprenticeship programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs regulations; inspection and approval of programs for veteransí educational benefits; assisting with the development and direction of consultative and supervisory services to affected programs; acting as a liaison with other units, outside agencies and national organizations that have an interest in veteransí education and training; reviewing proposed legislation and regulations and preparing recommendations; and developing and amending the procedures and policies affecting the Bureauís responsibilities. You will also supervise Veterans Education Representative 1ís and 2ís.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination to be considered for this position.

On or before the date of the examination, the candidate must have a bachelorís degree in any field AND either:

1. six years of professional experience in a position where 50% or more of your duties involved the administration, oversight, regulation, or coordination of a Veteransí education program to include degree programs within institutions of higher learning, certification programs, On-the-Job-Training/Apprenticeship programs, or Distance Learning programs. One year of this experience must include direct supervision of staff.

OR

2. six years of professional experience in the review, evaluation, or approval of education programs for federal approval, regional, or state accreditation purposes, to include degree programs within institutions of higher learning, certification programs, On-the-Job Training/Apprenticeship programs, or Distance Learning programs. One year of this experience must include direct supervision of staff.

OR

3. six years of professional experience in an educational or governmental organization in an administrative position with major responsibility for one or more of the following: educational program planning, education program evaluation, or educational program auditing for degree programs within institutions of higher learning, certification programs, On-the-Job Training/Apprenticeship programs, or distance learning programs. One year of this experience must include direct supervision of staff.
