Summary of Job Description

As a Lake George Marine Officer 3, you would:

May perform any of the duties of any subordinate Lake George Marine Officer.  

Under the general direction of the Lake George Park Commission Executive Director:

Manage all enforcement activities in the park, as directed by the director.

Perform and direct special investigations.

Coordinate operations with other public safety agencies.

Ensure the confidentiality and security of all Marine Patrol records.

Supervise all administrative functions for the Marine Patrol force, including budget preparation, maintenance of personnel and training records, equipment and supply inventory and control, and report preparation.

Review regatta permit applications.

Respond to FOIL Requests for law enforcement records.

Prepare recommendations and coordinate purchases and repairs of marine patrol equipment.

Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures and rules for subordinate employees.

Prepare annual reimbursement documentation for equipment and personnel.

Attend monthly law enforcement committee and general meetings to provide information on patrol and enforcement activities.

Assist in recruiting, interviewing and hiring of Lake George Marine Officer candidates, in coordination with the Executive Director.

Ensure that marine patrol staff has appropriate certification and training, and assists with the development and implementation of policies, procedures, rules and regulations.

Evaluate and approve posts for patrol coverage and implements changes as needed.

Manage and allocate law enforcement resources, and participates in emergency planning.

Write and coordinate Orders on Consent with affected public as allowed by the rules and regulations of the Lake George Park Commission, working in concert with program staff.
