Job Duties

As a Chief Casualty Actuary 3, one manages the activities of an actuarial unit in the Insurance Department; evaluates the unit's actuarial analyses for reasonableness and supportability; provides actuarial expertise in furthering the Department's policy position; represents the Department on NAIC task forces; oversees Supervising Actuaries in the life, health or casualty specialty; and ensures that unit's goals and objectives are met.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination to be considered for this position.

You must be a qualified employee of New York State and have one year of service as a Supervising Actuary (Casualty) and successful completion of seven examinations from the Casualty Actuarial Society.
