Job Duties
As an Assistant Director Information Technology Services 2, you would typically function under the direction of a Director Information Technology Services 3, M-6, or Manager Information Services, NS, in managing the daily operations. You may oversee the application programs and/or IT technical specialty programs of the IT organization such as operations and networks with multi-agency impact.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

For employees of New York State, on or before the date of the examination, candidates must have 45 days of permanent competitive, non-competitive NY HELPS, or 55-b/55-c service as a Manager Information Technology Services 2, Manager Information Technology Services 2 (Technical), Assistant Director Information Technology Services 1, Assistant Director Information Technology Technical Services 1, or Director Information Technology Services 1.
If you have received a permanent appointment to a qualifying title listed and served provisionally in that title immediately preceding your permanent appointment, such provisional service may be counted towards meeting the time in title required for this examination.
