As an Assistant Director, Benefits Administration, you would be reporting to the Director of the Employee Benefits Division, Assistant Directors have a day to day responsibility for managing a major functional area of NYSHIP which, with over 1 million covered lives and $7 billion in premiums, is one of the nation’s largest health care programs. Major functional areas include: Contract Management, Financial Management and Audit, Program Administration, and Policy and Strategic Analysis. These positions require the high level management skills necessary to supervise a large staff, ability to develop and execute multi-year/multi-activity operational plans, as well as a significant body of knowledge related both to the environment and operation of large employee benefit programs and the state-of-the-art in the functional area for which they are responsible.
