As a Taxpayer Services Administrator 1, you would direct the activities of tax specialty processing sections. You would supervise staff and formulate section goals and objectives, work procedures and standards consistent with tax laws, rules, and regulations; develop priorities, procedures, and schedules to meet section goals; monitor workflow and production levels; draft and review fiscal, production, and statistical reports and make recommendations regarding the development of budget requests and the formulation of section spending plans; and collaborate with counterparts in meeting the goals and objectives of the Department.

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination to be considered for this position.
On or before the date of the examination, you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance or the Division of Tax Appeals and have had 60 days of permanent competitive, non-competitive NY HELPS*, or 55-b/55-c service as shown below. If you have received a permanent appointment to a qualifying title listed and served provisionally** in that title immediately preceding your permanent appointment, such provisional service may be counted towards meeting the time in title required for this examination.
Either A. Taxpayer Services Specialist 4, or Tax Compliance Manager 2;
Or
B. Business Systems Analyst 3, or Business Systems Analyst 4.
