As an Environmental Analyst 2, you would perform a variety of tasks related to the integration of environmental factors and considerations into the decision making of government agencies. These tasks would include conducting environmental impact assessments of proposed actions; conducting inter-disciplinary environmental and regulatory reviews; environmental/regulatory review of land acquisition; interfacing with government agencies and the public on environmental review and permitting procedures; developing and utilizing computer-assisted programs to manage, track, and schedule project review activities; and serving as a project manager on complex projects/facilities which require integrated environmental review. You would also assist in developing environmental policy, regulations, and legislation; conduct compliance assistance and outreach; and supervise and participate in training of staff in the performance of their assigned duties.
These positions exist in the Department of Environmental Conservation; Office of Renewable Energy Siting; Division of Housing and Community Renewal; Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation; Lake George Park Commission; and Office of General Services.

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.
On or before the date of the exam, you must be a qualified employee of New York State and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as an Environmental Analyst 1, Environmental Analyst Trainee 2, or Environmental Analyst Trainee 1.
